“Dog Family” is out today!

It’s finally here — “Dog Family” is officially available for purchase on Amazon and Ingram Spark.

The story follows a strong-willed and stubborn little lady who refuses to comply with dinnertime etiquette. And it’s inspired by my own lovable little girl, Emily. When she decided to hit the road to avoid following our rules, Emily didn’t quite make it to Dog Family, but she did make it all the way down the block and around the corner while I hid behind trees to make sure nothing horrible happened. When I finally revealed myself and told her it was time to head home, she looked at me, stone-faced, and grabbed my hand, walking home in silence.

I love her willpower and her spirit (even though I’m not a big fan of her tendency to push limits).

And I wondered … what would she have done if I’d just let her keep going? It all could’ve gone terribly wrong, but instead of focusing on the doomsday scenarios I decided to add dogs and a little whimsy to the story.

The end result is something I love. I hope you love it, too.
